Aegle

Turn CGM data into simple daily actions

Thousands of glucose readings don’t help unless you know what to do. Aegle finds your patterns, suggests one small step, and shows you the impact the very next day.

Aegle connects with Abbott Libre 2 & 3 to spot patterns, send alerts, and suggest what to try next. Then checks the result tomorrow.

Clinical results

In a 4-month trial with St James School of Medicine, 40 participants had their A1C measured at the start and again after using Aegle for 4 months. The average reduction was 1.91 points in A1C.

Participants didn’t just get meal or exercise tips, they became more informed about their condition in real time. By seeing how daily habits and diet choices affected their blood sugar, they were able to alter behavior immediately. Some even brought their Aegle data to their physicians, who adjusted medications based on those insights.

FAQ

Is Aegle medical advice?

No. Aegle is not a replacement for your doctor or medical team. The app is designed for people with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes to better understand their glucose patterns. Aegle provides educational insights and suggestions based on your continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data, such as timing meals, activity adjustments, or noticing patterns overnight. These are prompts for self-management, not prescriptions. Always consult your healthcare professional for diagnosis, treatment, or medication changes.

Which CGMs work with Aegle?

Aegle currently supports Abbott Freestyle Libre 2 and 3 sensors. We are actively expanding compatibility and expect to include more CGMs soon. Once you connect your sensor, Aegle syncs your glucose readings seamlessly. We keep integration as simple as possible so you don’t have to worry about complex setup.

Is my data private?

Yes. Data security is non-negotiable. Aegle uses HIPAA-compliant databases, encryption at rest and in transit, and strict internal access controls. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties. Soon, you will also be able to share your reports directly with your healthcare provider via a secure link — only when you choose to.

Is Aegle HSA/FSA eligible?

Often, yes. CGM devices and supplies are generally HSA/FSA eligible when prescribed. Aegle, as a digital health companion, may also qualify if your clinician provides a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). We offer a downloadable LMN template to make this process easier. However, each plan differs, so you should confirm eligibility with your HSA/FSA provider.

What makes Aegle different from my CGM app?

Most CGM apps show you glucose numbers and graphs, but they stop there. Aegle goes further. It doesn’t just record — it analyzes, detects spikes and drops, asks for context (like meals or stress), and translates that into small, actionable steps you can try the next day. Instead of data overload, you get guidance.

Who is Aegle for?

Aegle is designed for people with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes who want more control and understanding of their daily glucose patterns. It is not intended for type 1 diabetes or emergency medical use. Aegle is especially useful for those who want to learn how everyday habits — eating times, activity, stress, sleep — affect their glucose.

What results can I expect?

Results vary by individual, but in a pilot study with 40 participants at St James School of Medicine in Anguilla, Aegle users reported an average reduction of 1.91 points in A1C. That’s a significant improvement achieved through small, sustained lifestyle changes guided by the app. While no app can guarantee results, our early data shows Aegle can make a meaningful difference.

How does Aegle detect anomalies?

Our algorithm continuously monitors your glucose readings for sudden spikes or drops. When detected, you’ll receive an alert along with the option to add context — for example, if you just ate, exercised, or felt stressed. Over time, Aegle builds a “cause and effect” map of your body’s responses, helping you understand not just what happened, but why.

Can I share my data with my healthcare provider?

Yes — a clinician dashboard is being developed now. Soon you’ll be able to send your weekly reports and summaries directly to your doctor, dietitian, or diabetes educator. This makes appointments more productive because your care team can see trends and context, not just snapshots.

How much does Aegle cost?

Aegle offers a freemium model:
Free tier includes glucose charts, time-of-day insights, and anomaly alerts.
Premium ($29/month) adds personalized trend analysis, weekly reports, advanced context tracking, and the ability to share data with your healthcare professional.

How does Aegle help with prediabetes?

For people with prediabetes, early intervention is key. Aegle helps you spot glucose patterns after meals, during stress, or at night — before they escalate into bigger issues. By identifying triggers early and encouraging healthier habits, Aegle can help you slow or even reverse progression toward type 2 diabetes.

Is Aegle available worldwide?

The app is being rolled out gradually. It’s currently available in select regions and supports Abbott Libre 2 & 3 sensors. As we expand, we’ll announce new countries and CGM device compatibility. If Aegle isn’t available in your region yet, you can still join the waitlist to be notified when it is.

Who built Aegle?

Aegle was founded in 2019 in Helsinki, Finland. The team has conducted multiple clinical trials, including a 40-person study with St James School of Medicine. Our mission is to turn raw CGM data into confidence and daily control for people living with T2 diabetes and prediabetes.
